Re: [POLL] On-Board Charger and DC/DC Converter

This may be of interest to people on this string: As the owner of a 2012 IMIEV I recently received a letter from Mitsubishi. ...... " due to potential low durability of the capacitors on the circuit boards in the On-Board-Charger (OBC), the capacitors may short and cause the high voltage fuse ...

Re: Just had the passenger airbag recall work done

Count your blessings, I guess - My closest dealer who works on EV's is 120 miles (200 kms) away and the cars have to go there on a flatbed tow truck! Don That is sub-optimal. At least I got a loan car for the two days...a Mitsubishi Mirage... which for all its 3 cylinders, was awful by comparison t...

Just had the passenger airbag recall work done

So, the I went in for a service and the passenger air bag recall. The Mitsubishi service engineer told me that Mitsubishi allow 2.5 hours for this job, and it took them the entire day. There is no simple passenger air bag access - it required half of the dashboard being taken off. Also, because half...

Re: Car not turning on

So, it was the 12v. Are these special batteries? The dealer is charging me $400, and had to ship the battery in from somewhere?? Dangit. I was able to buy the side mirror on eBay for $75! This is a 2012. $400 for a battery? thats probably compounded by diagnostic and fitting costs. I expect for tha...

Re: Car not turning on

there is a low 12v warning alert, i've had that (bit pointless as it rapidly runs the 12v down itself). My 12v suddenly gave up about 2m ago... first job would be to charge the 12v, and check/ replace. Bet that's all it is, you've just come back from a trip. If its over 4-5y of age, i'd just replace...

Re: Different versions

Hello, I am in the process of getting one of the triplets (i.e. Mitsubishi i-MiEV / Peugeot iOn / Citroën C-Zero) and I am a bit puzzled on what I see. I am searching on mobile.de and stumping upon 49kW, 35kW and 29kW versions of the triplets. Are there really so many versions of the motor? Or is t...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

I'll bet a fair amount the Uk and Oz spec cars are nigh on identical spec - other than miles on Uk vs Kms in Oz. . . . . . and yet the North American cars can display either  Don Good point, I think they all can now that I think about it, though not tried it yet... i'm not within practical ran...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

All North America iMiEV's came with a remote control (of sorts) from the factory - It's my understanding that most other countries version of the car didn't. I know the ones sold in Europe didn't, but not as sure about the Aussie version. Don Some of the UK cars came with the remote - my late 2012 ...

Re: Heat Damaged Charger Plug

Hi and welcome to the forum. As others have said... nothing to do with the car's on board charger or the EVSE charging lead (which would protect the car from any damage anyway). I've had this happen on my own 2012 IMIEV in the UK, also running on 230-240V domestic. As has been said, if you draw too ...
