Re: What is needed amount of coolant for conditioner?

I guess I was missing the point. If there's a leak, then it's like an ice car anyway.

Re: What is needed amount of coolant for conditioner?

Most ice cars today have compressors with mechanical shaft seals that leak refrigerant all the time and most mechanics can do a good job at guessing how much refrigerant to add with a little experience. But with our hermetic or semi-hermetic compressors which are completely sealed, weighing in the c...

Nice upgrade! I'm very tempted to do something similar but, like you I'm only a few minutes from home.

I might show this to my son who has our other I-miev.

Re: 14" Wheels

Nice find! I think you have a good idea with keeping it in your car just in case of a flat. As I recall that along with the error codes the regenative braking won't be working, but still, in an emergency... You have me wondering what the smallest, lightest donut spare out there that would still bolt...

Re: 2014 I-miev for sale in Fremont, CA

Yes, it does have CHAdeMO (but not listed on their table of features - it's actually buried deep down in the last paragraph). First question I'd ask: "What's the battery capacity?" Second question: "Is it a California car and, if so, where had it lived?" The 2014 incorpor...

2014 I-miev for sale in Fremont, CA

I found a 2014 I-Miev for sale on Craigslist in the SF bay area. It's actually at a Dealer in Fremont and it's probably a little more expensive than it should be because of the high mileage with nearly 70,000 miles. They want $7981 for it but it's a nice looking white ES model that appears to be in ...

Re: Shifter starting to have problems

Thanks PV1. I just tried this myself on my silver I-miev. The shifter worked fine but was getting a little stiff. I did notice it was easier from the drivers side.  Ed Wow, this really works. After a day or so of driving around my shifter works like new! 8-) The other thing I think this...

Re: Shifter starting to have problems

Hi, all. Been off the forum for a while. Both of my cars had this issue, as does a friend's i-MiEV. Like others have said, the fix for this is to lubricate the lever coming out of the gearbox that connects to the shifter linkage. Since this is all open to the elements, the bearings dry out over tim...

Re: It Has Arrived!

Hopefully, that didn't hurt it too bad - 1/4 tank would have been better than 3/4ths. Cars which sat with a full tank for a year ended up with significantly degraded batteries. I own 2 of them. Don Yes, I'm hoping that it didn't hurt it either. I believe he did take it out once in a while, like may...
