Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Finally I was able to return my little car (problem described on the previous page) to the road, thanks to the change of the complete converter.

New was more modern and I had to modify wiring / connectors, but everything seems to be fine.

Thank you all!

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

I'm having big trouble desoldering the waffle plate, it gives the impression that it dissipates so much heat that it can't melt the tin. Edited: Finally, trying to remove the waffle plate I damaged the main board. I start the search for another charger from a wrecked car. (Was: In an electronics sto...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Well, finally I have been able to put in some time and I have removed the board off the OBC. I do not see any more visible damage. The fuse is OK. https://i.imgur.com/pv4zo5l.jpg (Sorry if the photos are too big) Detail of the damage: https://i.imgur.com/aM8CeT8.jpg The small capacitors seem OK, I d...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Thanks, guys! :D ...So what is the condition of your 12V Aux battery? Is it the original that came with the car, is it old or fresh, etc.?. The original 12V battery ('2011) was changed only two months ago, after some strange behavior. Open the access cover of the MCU located next to the OBC, and see...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Well, I finally have some time. I have disconnected the traction battery (under the driver's seat) and I have accessed the charger, from the trunk, without removing it from the car. Above the charger there is a small box (doghouse?) and everything seems normal. There is a fuse, but it is OK. https:/...

Re: Troubleshooting and repair for On-board Charger (OBC), DC-DC Converter

Hello everybody. Another case more. Peugeot iOn, year 2011, 95,000 km / 60,000 mi, charged almost every day, the 12-volt battery was replaced two months ago. In the middle of a charge suddenly stopped. When trying to restart the charge, blow the fans a moment and everything stops. Well, it seems I h...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

Does anyone know why I do not have any reading in the Ah field? CanION is updated, the car is a clone (Peugeot) and the OBD-II is an STN1170. Everything measures perfectly, just does not give me any value for "Ah" :x Any ideas? https://i.imgur.com/ccR3a0I.jpg Solved . Trying to update the...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

@BarbeGrise  It should be possible to update the stn1170 from Andy. It is necessary to use a laptop (with BT!!) and use the StnFirmwareUpdater.exe included in the download. Maybe it has not been a good idea. :( Software downloaded, laptop (Windows 10) connected by Bluetooth (COM3), launche...

Re: measuring capacity loss through CanIon

Bonsoir, Xavier, merci de votre attention! My interface is a STN1170, but no from scantool; mine is from AH Design http://ahdesign.us/blog/stn1170-bluetooth-obdii-adapter/ Until now, everything had gone perfectly, but I do not read the capacity value I think it's not a good idea to update the AH Des...
